Event Briefs

Matoshri Ashatai Kunawar Arts, Commerce and Science Women’s College, Hinganghat,organized Teachers’ Day celebrations on 6th September 2025 in the college premises. In the first session of the day, a Self-Governance Program was conducted, in which students played the roles of principal, vice principal, teachers, and non-teaching staff. At Matoshri College, Deepika Pantawane took charge as Principal, Khemika Parkhi as Vice Principal, and Aditi Chandrikapure also played the role of Vice Principal. In the second session, the Teachers’ Day program was held. The program was presided over by Dr. Mahendra Gunde, Principal of Tulsakar Group of Pharmacy, with distinguished guests Dr. Umesh Tulsakar, Mr. Ajay Bire, Dr. Rajvilas Karmore, and Mr. Ganesh Ingole in attendance. The event formally began with the lighting of the lamp and garlanding of the portraits of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the second President of independent India, and Savitribai Phule, the pioneer of women’s education.The program’s introduction was delivered by Dr. Sapna Jaiswal. Prof. Ajay Bire highlighted that Teachers’ Day is celebrated to honor teachers. Dr. Rajvilas Karmore explained the importance of Teachers’ Day, while Prof. Ganesh Ingole shared incidents from his life to show the high respect teachers commanded in earlier times.The students who had taken charge as principals and vice principals in the self-governance program — Deepika Pantawane, Santosh Dhote, Khemika Parkhi— also shared their thoughts. All professors were felicitated by the students with greeting cards. Among the students who participated in self-governance, those who performed excellently in teaching were specially recognized. These included:From the Arts Department: Shantanu Watkar, Lakshmi Hivare. From the Commerce Department: Snehal Wadhai, Sameeksha Daf.  From the Science Department: Dhanashri Tadas, Tanuja Bahure, The program was compered by Sakshi Punase and Suhani Mahakalkar, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Tanuja Bahure. For the success of the program, Miss Sangita Landge, Head of the Cultural Department played an important role. All faculty members and non-teaching staff extended their cooperation.
