On Thursday, August 7, 2025, an awareness program on “Prevention of Drug Abuse among Youth” was organized at the Seminar Hall of Pandurang group of Institution Hinganghat, organized the program in collaboration with Inner wheel Club Hinganghat. The objective of the program was to create awareness among the students about the risks associated with drug abuse, its effects on the individual and society and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The aim was to create awareness about the risks of drug abuse, educate students about the social, health and legal consequences of drug addiction and take proactive steps to prevent drug abuse in the society. The chief guest of the program was Anurag Jain, Superintendent of Police, Wardha and the guest was Dr. Mosam Phirke, Senior Psychiatrist, Nagpur. Both the speakers delivered informative presentations to create awareness about various aspects of drug abuse, its consequences and preventive measures. Engaging discussions were held, which allowed the students to share their thoughts, concerns and questions related to drug abuse.

Anurag Jain Sir started by explaining what drugs are and the different types of drugs that are commonly used, with real-life examples. He gave detailed information about how addiction develops in the early stages and also described the signs and symptoms of drug addiction, which helped the students to identify these indicators. He highlighted the role of community vigilance in fighting drug addiction, discussed the NDPS Act-1985 and its legal implications, and

highlighted the importance of alerting the authorities and concerned family members about anyone who resorts to drug use. Dr. Mosam Firke discussed how drug use negatively affects the life of an addict, highlighting the serious consequences on physical and emotional health. He gave detailed information about how drug addiction can have a detrimental impact on a person’s future, including personal, professional and academic problems. The program was chaired by Dr. Umesh Tulskar, President of Vidya Vikas Shikshan Sanstha Hinganghat. The program was attended by Hinganghat Deputy Superintendent of Police Mr. Sushil Kumar Nair, Thanedar Mr. Devendra Thakur., Samudrapur Thanedar Mr. Ravindra Revatkar, Innerwheel Club President Kumud Vyas, Dr. Aparna Mude and other members. Secretary of Vidya Vikas Shikshan Sanstha Hinganghat Dr. Nayana Tulaskar, Dr. Kishore Chandra Revatkar, Principal Vidya Vikas Mahavidyalaya Samudrapur, Dr. Rajvilas Karmore, Principal, Tulaskar Institute of Science and Technology, Dr. Mahendra Gunde, Principal, Tulaskar College of Pharmacy, Co- Ordinator ICC Committee, Ms. Darshana S. Rendhe. Dr. Sapana Jaiswal, Vice Prinicpal of Matoshri Ashatai Kunawar Art’s , Commerce and Science Women’s college Hinganghat teaching and non-teaching staff and students of all colleges. The program was moderated by Prof. Abhay Dandekar and Sarika Dongre proposed the vote of thanks. The program successfully achieved its objective of educating students about the dangers and consequences of drug addiction. The program instilled in the

students a sense of responsibility to be aware and help the needy and contribute to a drug-free society.
