The birth anniversary of Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 3 January through the joint initiative of the Cultural Department and the Student Development Department of Matoshri Ashatai Kunawar Arts, Commerce and Science Women’s College, Hinganghat, The programme began with floral tribute to the portrait of Savitribai Phule and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
The programme was presided over by Vice-Principal Dr. Sapna Jaiswal. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Umesh Tulsakar, Head of the Science Department Prof. Shital Dharmik, Head of the Arts Department Prof. Bhagyashree Sabale, Head of the Commerce Department Prof. Vaishali Tadas. The introductory address was delivered by Prof. Sangita Landge, Head of the Cultural Department and Student Development Department. She appealed to the students that the thoughts of Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule should reach every household and be imbibed by everyone. In her presidential address, Dr. Sapna Jaiswal highlighted the greatness of Savitribai Phule’s life and work. She stated that no matter how many difficulties and obstacles one faces in life, one must overcome them and achieve one’s goals. Only then, she said, would the celebration of Savitribai Phule’s birth anniversary be meaningful in the true sense.
The programme was compered by Prof. Khushbu Katulwar, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Poonam Burile, Head of the Cultural Department of Vidya Vikas Junior College. Teaching and non-teaching staff extended direct and indirect cooperation for the successful conduct of the programme.
