Event Objectives

  1. To encourage in-depth study of specific topics, enhancing knowledge of social theories, research methodologies, and substantive areas like social inequality, gender, and social change.
  2. To help students look beyond common sense understanding and critically analyze issues and experiences of individuals within diverse social contexts.
  3. To train students to locate scholarly information, synthesize literature, formulate research questions, and analyze data.

Event Outcomes

  1. Students develop the ability to apply sociological concepts and theories to analyze real-world social problems, such as inequality, crime, and social change.
  2. Seminar participants often gain hands-on experience in research methodology, including designing research, data collection, and qualitative/quantitative analysis.
  3. Students learn to question common-sense assumptions and critically evaluate explanations of human behavior.

Event Briefs

The Student Seminar was organized for the students of B.A. First Year, Second Year, and Third Year. During this seminar, students were given different topics and were asked to teach and present them. The students explained their respective subjects in detail. From the First Year students, Miss Samiksha Zade and Miss Nidhi Karpe  presented for the Major subject, while  Miss Veena Chaudhary Presented the OE subject. From the Second Year students, Miss Ashwini Zade presented for the Major subject. From the Third Year students, Miss Ketki Zade, Miss Dipika Pantawane guided the students by providing direction and valuable insights. Through this program, the hidden talents of students are brought out, and their stage daring (confidence) is developed. Such seminars are organized at the college level to enhance students’ skills and overall personality development. Miss Minakshi Pawade guided students as head of department.
