Event Objectives

  1. Participants must analyse complex topics, research evidence, and construct logical arguments under pressure.
  2. The format provides an opportunity to practice speaking articulately and persuasively in front of an audience.
  3. Debaters must research their topics in depth, which helps them retain knowledge more effectively than traditional learning.
  4. By requiring participants to argue both for and against a motion (as in some formats), they are trained to see multiple sides of an issue.

Event Outcomes

  1. Debate sharpens participants’ ability to analyze topics, structure arguments, and identify logical flaws in opposing viewpoints.
  2. Repairing for debates requires comprehensive research to gather facts, evidence, and statistics to support arguments.
  3. Singing provides a creative outlet for individuals to express their emotions and personality through music.
  4. Music is a therapeutic medium that can help participants productively process their feelings and relieve stress.

Event Briefs

Students’ Development Department of Matoshri Ashatai Kunawar Arts, Commerce & Science Women’s College, Hinganghat organized 150th anniversary of the ‘Vande Mataram’ song. As per the instructions received from the Governor’s office and letter RTMNU/S.V.V./LETTER NO. 432 from Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur, we organized Debate Competition on ‘The feeling of patriotism has diminished among today’s youth’ and singing competition on ‘Patriotic Song’. In debate competition, there were 10 students participate. They delivered their view on this topic against and favour. In singing competition, students sang patriotic song and through this they remember their nation’s great leader to commemorate this historically and culturally significant event.
