Event Briefs

Brief Description

On the occasion of Nature Conservation Day, a workshop was organized at Matoshri Ashatai Kunawar Women’s College, Hinganghat. Dr. Umesh Tulaskar, Principal of the college, presided over the event, while Dr. Nayana Shirbhate, Vice-Principal of Vidya Vikas College, Samudrapur, was the guest speaker. Dr. Shirbhate emphasized the importance of environmental conservation and tree plantation, highlighting that many organizations and individuals plant trees on Environment Day but often neglect their maintenance. She advised focusing on nurturing and conserving existing trees rather than just planting new ones. Additionally, she stressed that tree conservation is more crucial than tree plantation, as people often mistakenly believe that trees will automatically grow if planted during the monsoon season. However, tree care is vital for future generations. The program aimed to raise awareness about the importance of conserving natural resources and promoting environmental conservation. Faculty members, students, and staff attended the event, appreciating Dr. Shirbhate’s valuable guidance and insights. Prof. Darshana Redhe conducted the program, and Prof. Harshada Raut expressed gratitude to all participants. The program’s success was due to the cooperation of all faculty members, staff, and students from the Arts, Commerce, and Science departments.
