Event Briefs

Matoshri Ashatai Kunawar Arts, Commerce & Science Women’s College, Hinganghat, organized a grand celebration of the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj through the Cultural. The program was graced by renowned poetess Gunjan Patil as the Chief Guest. The function was presided over by Dr. Nayana Tulsakar, Secretary of Vidya Vikas Shikshan Sanstha and President of Hinganghat Municipal Council. Distinguished dignitaries present on the occasion included Dr. Umesh Tulsakar, President of Vidya Vikas Shikshan Sanstha and Principal of Matoshri Ashatai Kunawar Arts Commerce and Science Women’s College; Mr. Nitesh Rode, Headmaster of Vidya Vikas Junior College; Dr. Sapna Jaiswal, Vice-Principal of Matoshri College.

The program began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and garlanding of the portrait of Shivaji Maharaj. A spirited “Shivgarjana” was also presented. The introductory speech was delivered by Dr. Sapna Jaiswal, Vice-Principal of the college. In her address, she highlighted the greatness and achievements of Shivaji Maharaj. Chief Guest Gunjan Patil explained the importance of Shivaji Maharaj’s lifestyle and ideals to the students. Through her humorous and engaging poems, she conveyed the dreams Shivaji Maharaj had envisioned for Maharashtra. In her presidential address, Dr. Nayana Tulsakar, the first citizen of the city, guided the students to learn from Shivaji Maharaj how to lead a true and meaningful life.The program was anchored by Mr. Ajay Bire, Head of the Marathi Department, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Vaishali Tadas, Head of the Commerce Department.

The program was successfully coordinated with the dedicated efforts of Ms. Sangita Landge (Cultural and Student Development Department Head, Matoshri College. All teaching and non-teaching staff extended their direct and indirect support for the successful organization of the program.
