Event Objectives

  1. To understand challenges and successes in providing accessible, quality education for children with special needs within mainstream schools.
  2. To assess how training programs (like those for vocational skills), aids, and appliances help PwDs achieve economic independence and social integration.
  3. To identify barriers in public spaces (like railway stations) and advocate for accessible infrastructure, demonstrating real-world impacts.

Event Outcomes

  1. The prevalence of disability in Maharashtra was 1.9%, slightly higher in rural areas (2.1%) than urban areas (1.6%).
  2. Among PwDs aged 7 and above, 8% were literate.
  3. A significant majority, about 90% of disabled persons, were undergoing or had taken treatment

Event Briefs

Sociology Department of Matoshri Ashatai Kunawar Arts, Commerce and Science Women’s College, Hinganghat organized field visit at Anandwan Warora. In this place, students know the reality of life and difficulties. They get knowledge about the life of handicap person. Principal of our college guided students and told rules and regulation. Miss Minakshi Pawade guided students during this visit.
