  • Dahi Handi requires teams, known as “Govindas,” to work together to build human pyramids, showcasing their ability to coordinate and support each other.
  • The event is a test of physical strength and agility as participants climb the human pyramid, relying on their balance and the support of their teammates.

On the occasion of Gokulashtami, the Cultural Department of Matoshri Ashatai Kunawar College of Arts, Commerce and Science for Women, Hinganghat celebrated Janmashtami with great joy through the traditional Dahi Handi festival. The chief guests, Dr. Umesh Tulsakar, President of Vidya Vikas Shikshan Sanstha, and Dr. Nayana Tulsakar, Secretary of Vidya Vikas Shikshan Sanstha, performed the worship of Lord Krishna’s idol as well as the ritual of Dahi Handi. A dance performance based on Lord Krishna’s songs was also presented.

Students of Matoshri College, Tulsakar College of Pharmacy, and Tulsakar Institute of Science and Technology successfully broke the Dahi Handi. The President of the institution appreciated and congratulated the students for their efforts.The program was graced by the presence of Dr. Mahendra Gunde, Principal, Tulsakar College of Pharmacy; Dr. Rajvilas Karmore, Principal, Tulsakar Institute of Science and Technology; Dr. Sapna Jaiswal, Vice-Principal, Matoshri College; Nitesh Rode, Principal, Vidya Vikas Junior College; and Mr. Itankar, Joint Secretary, Vidya Vikas Shikshan Sanstha, Hinganghat. The program was conducted by Prof. Ajay Bire. The Student Cultural Committee of the college also contributed significantly to the success of the programme.For the smooth organization and execution of the event, the commendable efforts of Prof. Sangita Landge ,Head, Cultural Department and the other members of the Cultural Department were noteworthy. Faculty members and non-teaching staff also extended their support in ensuring the success of the celebration.
