Event Briefs

Introduction of the Event:

Matoshri Ashatai Kunawar Arts, Commerce, and Science womens College, Hinganghat, organized Ranbhaji Mahotsav, a festival celebrating wild edibles, jointly by the Botany and Home Economics departments. The event was graced by Chief Guest: Shri Pandurang Tulaskar sir Guests of Honor Dr. Nayana Shirbhate, Vice Principal, Vidya Vikas college, Samudrapur, and Dr. Sapna Jaiswal, Vice Principal, Matoshri women’s college, Hinganghat Head of Botany Department Prof. Darshana Rendhe, Prof. Harshada Raut, Prof. Vaidarbhi Gungurd (Botany), and Head of Home Economics department Prof. Asha Ghate.

Dr. Nayana Shirbhate inaugurated the festival. The exhibition showcased various wild edibles, and some were available for sale. Dishes prepared from wild edibles like Suran, Rajgira, Math, Kudar, Tarota, Chafa, Katwal, Chivdi, Ghol Bhaji, Bhendi, Chawli, Kena, Shevga, and Kartuli were displayed, along with their recipes.Dr. Nayana Shirbhate highlighted the importance of wild edibles and explained their various benefits. The program was conducted under the guidance of Principal Dr. Umesh Tulaskar, anchored by Prof. Harshada Raut, and coordinated by Prof. Darshana Rendhe. All faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students from the Arts, Commerce, and Science departments contributed to the event’s success.
