Event Objectives

  • Increase awareness of the numerous health, nutritional, and developmental benefits of breastfeeding for infants and the health of mothers.
  • Highlight the importance of protecting breastfeeding as a shared responsibility involving families, communities, governments, and workplaces.
  • Advocate for policies and practices that create supportive environments for breastfeeding, including adequate maternity leave, flexible work arrangements, and accessible breastfeeding facilities.

Event Outcomes

  • WBW raises global awareness about the numerous benefits of breastfeeding for both infants and
  • It highlights the need for strong support systems, including healthcare professionals, communities, and workplaces, to enable mothers to breastfeed successfully.
  • WBW encourages the implementation of policies and programs that protect, promote, and support breastfeeding, such as paid maternity leave, workplace accommodations for breastfeeding, and restrictions on the marketing of breast-milk substitutes

Event Briefs

World Breast Feeding Week was celebrated by Home Economics Department. It is celebrated all over the world. It was celebrated from 1st August 2025 to 7th August 2025.president for this programme was Dr. Sapana Jauswal. She told importance of breast feeding. For this, we invited Dr. Pranali Sayankar, Gynaecologist, Sayankar Hospital, Hinganghat. Through this programme, we want to aware students about importance of Breast Feeding. She enlightened students about food habits, avoid to feed our newly born child. We also invited Dr. Ajay Lidbe from Civil Hospital Hinganghat. Anchoring was done by Sangita Landge. Vote of thanks was done by Miss Minakshi Pawde. All teaching and non teaching staff also supported for this programme.
