Introduction of the event
The World Wet Land Day celebrated on February 2nd every year to raise awareness about the importance of wet lands for our planet. Wet Lands are unique ecosystems that play a bital role in maintaining the balance of the environment. Therefore, to know the importance of Wet Lands Day , Department of Botany Celebrated this day on 2nd February 2025. On this occasion we have organized a Guest Lecture for benefit of students.
The programme was inaugurated; welcome the guest and introduction speech by Prof. Darshana S. Rendhe (HOD of Botany). The talk delivered by guest speaker DR. Nayana S. Shirbhate Vice-Principal of Vidya Vikas Science College Samudrapur. Who effectively delivered and start his talk on brief history of Wetlands and emphasis was given that how the wet lands play important role in maintaining the ecosystem and protecting and improving water quality, providing fish and wildlife habitats, storing floodwaters and maintaining surface water flow during dry periods. She also effectively solved the queries raised by the students. Overall, this was a very fruitful guest lecture as for as academic point of view. At the end the session was conclude and proposed the vote of thanks by Ms. Harshada G. Raut.
